Literally "dry ice" — but it does NOT mean dry ice (the frozen CO₂); that's
干冰 (gānbīng).
旱 means "dry land," so
旱冰 = "ice you can do on dry land," i.e. roller-skating, which mimics ice skating without actual ice. Common compounds:
