In 2018 the 文化部 was merged with the 国家旅游局 (National Tourism Administration) to form the 文化和旅游部 (Ministry of Culture and Tourism, MCT). In most pre-2018 texts and everyday speech, 文化部 still refers to the former standalone ministry.
