usage

Scientific term covering antibiotic resistance (抗药性 kàngyàoxìng), pest resistance to pesticides (抗虫性), and stress tolerance in plants (抗旱性, 抗寒性). Distinguish from 抵抗力 (dǐkànglì) 'resistance / immunity' which refers to a person's general physical defense, and 反抗 (fǎnkàng) 'to resist / revolt' which is the verb for active opposition.
