成行

Specific to trips and visits — describes a planned trip 'coming to fruition'. Often appears in negation: 没能成行 / 未能成行 ('couldn't / didn't end up taking place'). 行 is read xíng here (4th tone in some readings, but usually neutral xíng for 'to travel'), not háng (row).

mistakes

Do not confuse with 成行 (chéngháng, 'to form rows / lines') — same characters, different reading and meaning. Context disambiguates: travel context = chéngxíng; arrangement of trees/rows context = chéngháng.
