Founded in Guangzhou in 1996 by 许家印. Its default in 2021, with liabilities of more than 300 billion US dollars, set off China's property crisis, and a Hong Kong court ordered it wound up in 2024. Its club 广州恒大 won the AFC Champions League in 2013 and 2015.
