圣安东尼

圣安东尼 most commonly refers to Saint Anthony of Padua (圣安东尼·帕多瓦, 1195-1231), the Catholic patron saint of lost items - Catholics traditionally pray "Saint Anthony, please come around / Something is lost and must be found." The U.S. city San Antonio is usually written 圣安东尼奥 (with an extra 奥) in full, but 圣安东尼 appears as a shortened form.

圣 (shèng) is the standard Chinese rendering for Christian "Saint" / Spanish "San" / Italian "Sant'". Most place names beginning with San/Saint use 圣 - 圣弗朗西斯科 (San Francisco), 圣地亚哥 (San Diego), 圣彼得堡 (Saint Petersburg).
