剣 is the Japanese shinjitai kanji for 'sword'. It is not used in modern standard Chinese, where the simplified form is 剑 and the traditional form is 劍. All keep the knife radical 刂 on the right. Chinese learners meet 剣 only in Japanese martial-arts vocabulary, never in standard Chinese.
