usage
仿佛 is more literary/formal than 好像 (hǎoxiàng). Both mean 'as if', but 仿佛 is preferred in written Chinese.
usage
佛 is pronounced 'fú' here (not 'Fó' as in Buddha). This is a common pronunciation exception.
