Fans call it 仙剑 for short. The first game, made for DOS in 1995 by the Taiwanese studio Softstar (大宇资讯), follows 李逍遥, a boy raised at his aunt's inn who becomes a swordsman, and his love for 赵灵儿. Its tragic ending made it one of the best-loved Chinese role-playing games.
