After a name, 二世 works like the English "II": 伊丽莎白二世 is Elizabeth II and 利奥波德二世 is Leopold II. In 秦二世, the Second Emperor of Qin, it follows the dynasty's name instead. Other numbers work the same way: 亨利八世 is Henry VIII.
