加法 jiāfǎ (addition),
减法 jiǎnfǎ (subtraction),
乘法 chéngfǎ (multiplication),
除法 chúfǎ (division). Chinese schools famously memorize the
乘法口诀 (multiplication table chant), which uses only nine rows because of commutativity — a quicker memorization than the Western 12×12 grid.
