Standard Chinese rendering of 'Dana' (also Dannah / Danna) — 丹 (dān) renders 'da-' and 娜 (nà) is the universal feminine-name closer in Chinese transliterations: 安娜 Anna, 戴安娜 Diana, 朱莉娅 Julia. English-speaking 'Dana' is sometimes male in the US (e.g. UFC president Dana White), but the 娜 ending in Chinese marks it unambiguously female; for the male Dana, transliterators may use 达纳 (Dánà) instead.
