history

大串联 ('great linking-up,' 1966–67) was the Cultural Revolution practice of giving Red Guards free travel across China to spread Mao's ideas, a charged historical reference still recognized today. Its opposite in electronics is 并联 (bìnglián, 'parallel connection').
