量房

量房 is the first step in any 装修 (zhuāngxiū, renovation/fit-out) project. The 设计师 (designer) visits, measures every wall and window, then produces a 户型图 (floor plan) and 报价单 (quote). Common in newly-bought apartments which are typically delivered as bare 毛坯房 (máopīfáng, unfinished concrete shell).

量 has two readings: liáng ('to measure', verb) and liàng ('quantity', noun). Here it's liáng. Other verb uses: 量身高 (measure height), 量血压 (measure blood pressure).
