Chi Zijian is best known for 《
额尔古纳河右岸》 (The Last Quarter of the Moon, 2005), a novel about the Evenki people of Inner Mongolia that won the 7th Mao Dun Literature Prize — China's top fiction award. Her work is rooted in the snowbound villages of her native Heilongjiang.
