Gallup, Inc. — the polling firm founded by George Gallup (乔治·盖洛普) in 1935 — is the most cited name in 民意调查 (mínyì diàochá, public-opinion surveys). In Chinese news "盖洛普" almost always refers to a poll result (盖洛普民调 / 盖洛普调查). Same name spells the New Mexico railroad town Gallup, NM, on Route 66.
