history

A keyword of 1980s reform. 家庭联产承包责任制 ('household contract responsibility system') from 1978 onwards let rural households 承包经营 collective land — credited with triggering the farm-output boom. The same idea was later applied to SOEs as 承包经营责任制 in the mid-1980s.
