In Party political vocabulary
左倾 has a specific pejorative meaning: "ultra-leftist / adventurist" deviation, as in
左倾错误 (the leftist mistakes of the early 1930s and the Cultural Revolution). The mirror term
右倾 (rightist) is equally pejorative. Outside that discourse it simply means "left-leaning" in the Western political sense.
