Slightly literary/formal — everyday Chinese says 学生 xuésheng or 小学生 xiǎoxuéshēng. 学童 is preferred in news reports, official notices, or older texts (e.g. describing schoolchildren in the abstract — 'the welfare of schoolchildren').
