culture
Mencius praised him for being glad whenever someone pointed out a fault, the source of the idiom 闻过则喜. He is also one of the 二十四孝 (Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars): as a poor young man he carried rice on his back from a hundred li away to feed his parents.
usage
Books of the Analects are named after their opening words, not their subject. Book 13 begins 子路问政 'Zilu asked about government', so it is called 子路. Lines from it are cited as 《论语·子路》.
