威廉米勒

Multiple bearers of this name exist; the most historically prominent is William Miller (1782-1849) of New York, whose prediction that Christ would return on October 22, 1844 led tens of thousands of followers (called Millerites) to give away possessions and wait. When nothing happened, the day was called the 'Great Disappointment' (大失望); the surviving movement reorganized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
