Zhè jiàn shì wǒ yě shì dào tīng tú shuō, bù kě quán xìn tīngwén.

I only know this by hearsay too; you can't entirely trust the rumor.

Formal / written. As a verb, 听闻 = 'to hear that...' often introducing news politely (听闻你升职了 'I heard you got promoted'). As a noun it leans toward 'rumor, news'. Spoken Chinese usually uses 听说 (tīngshuō) instead.
