The Carpenters were a brother-sister duo: Richard wrote and played keyboards, Karen sang lead and played drums. Karen died in 1983 from anorexia. 《Yesterday Once More》 and 《Top of the World》 were the most-featured English songs on 1980s–90s Chinese English-learning cassettes — entire generations learned English through these songs.
