From 《周易·兑卦》 (Book of Changes, Dui hexagram): 丽泽，兑。君子以朋友讲习。Two adjoining marshes (丽泽 'paired marshes') replenish each other — the gentleman therefore studies and discusses with friends. This classical sense gave its name to many academies and place names. In modern Beijing, 丽泽 names a major business district in 丰台 (Fengtai), often called 'Beijing's third financial center' alongside 金融街 and CBD.
