Tips

usage
上涨 is mostly used for prices, water levels, and stocks. The opposite is 下降 (xiàjiàng, to fall/decline).
mistakes
Don't confuse 涨 (zhǎng, to rise) with 张 (zhāng, to open/spread). They look similar but have different meanings.
