Aleksandr Vasilyevich Kolchak was a polar explorer and naval commander who in 1918 became 'Supreme Ruler' (
最高执政官 zuìgāo zhízhèngguān) of the White movement based in Siberia. After his forces collapsed, he was handed to Bolshevik authorities and shot in February 1920 — a key moment in the Russian Civil War (
俄国内战).
