Tips

register
Old-fashioned and slightly literary; in modern speech you'd say 商店 (shāngdiàn) or 店铺 (diànpù). 铺户 turns up most in historical novels, period dramas, and writing about old streets — anywhere the ambience of pre-1949 commerce is wanted. Note here is pù (4th tone, 'shop'), not pū ('to spread').
mistakes
has two readings: pū (to spread, lay) and pù (shop, plank bed). For 铺户 always use pù.
