法罗

Multiple bearers under one transliteration: (1) 法罗群岛 (Fǎluó Qúndǎo) — the Faroe Islands, an autonomous territory of Denmark in the North Atlantic; (2) Faro, the resort capital of Portugal's Algarve region; (3) the surname Farrow (actress Mia Farrow is 米亚·法罗 Mǐyà Fǎluó). Don't confuse with 法老 (fǎlǎo) "pharaoh" — different second character (老 vs 罗).

法 (fǎ) ≈ "fa" (also the standard character for "France" 法国), 罗 (luó) ≈ "ro/rrow." 罗 is the workhorse for any "ro/lo/rol" sound in foreign words (罗马 Rome, 罗密欧 Romeo, 保罗 Paul).
