history

朱祁钰 was put on the throne in 1449, after his brother, the emperor 朱祁镇, was captured by the Oirats at 土木堡. The reign ended in 1457, when the brother took the throne back.

景泰 is also a county in Gansu, 景泰县, known for the Yellow River Stone Forest.
