Tips

history
中国同盟会 (Chinese Revolutionary Alliance) was founded by Sun Yat-sen in Tokyo in 1905, merging several anti-Qing groups. Its members led the 1911 Xinhai Revolution that overthrew the Qing dynasty. In 1912 it reorganized into the Kuomintang (国民, KMT). The 'Three Principles of the People' (民主) — nationalism, democracy, livelihood — originated here.
