爱里西亚

A non-standard transliteration of 'Alicia' (the standard PRC rendering is 艾丽西娅 Àilìxīyà). The choice of 爱 (ài, 'love') for the 'A-' onset is unusual — most transliterations prefer 艾 (ài, 'mugwort') because it carries no semantic load. The 西亚 (xīyà) ending is the standard pattern for '-cia/-sia/-shia', as in 阿尔西亚 (Ā'ěrxīyà, 'Althea').

亚 (yà, 'second/Asia') is the workhorse syllable for '-a' / '-ia' endings in foreign female names: 玛丽亚 'Maria', 索菲亚 'Sofia', 维多利亚 'Victoria'. Spot 亚 at the end of a name and you can usually guess it's a Western woman.
