Not used in everyday modern Chinese. It survives in astronomy as the constellation name 昴宿 and 昴星团 (the Pleiades star cluster), and in classical poetry such as the Book of Songs.

As one of the 28 lunar mansions, 昴 was central to Chinese calendar-making and divination for tracking the moon's path across the sky.
