Tips

usage
Stronger than 昏倒 ('faint, pass out') - 昏死 implies the loss of consciousness was so deep the person looks dead. Almost always paired with 过去 (V-complement marking completion): 昏死过去 'fainted dead away'. Common in fiction, news of accidents, and medical narratives.
mistakes
Don't take literally - the person isn't dead. here is a hyperbolic intensifier ('to the death'), the same use as in 累死 (exhausted), 笑死 (dying of laughter), 气死 (furious to death).
