张燕 is also the name of a Tang-dynasty warlord (

飞燕' ('Flying Swallow') who led the Black Mountain Bandits (
黑山贼) in Hebei during the late Han. In modern times the name most often refers to the Shaanxi folk singer
张燕 (born 1951), known for classic
陕北 (northern Shaanxi) folk performances.
