夏尔巴 transliterates 'Sherpa' (literally 'eastern people' in Tibetan). They are renowned as high-altitude guides on Everest (珠穆朗玛峰 Zhūmùlǎngmǎ Fēng). Tenzing Norgay (丹增·诺尔盖), who summited with Hillary in 1953, is the most famous Sherpa.
