德墨拉 most commonly refers to Demerara, a region in Guyana (formerly British Guiana) on the Demerara River. 'Demerara sugar' (
德墨拉糖 or
德麦拉拉糖) is the partially refined, light-brown raw cane sugar named after the colonial sugar plantations there. Capital city Georgetown is on the Demerara River's east bank.
