奥克斯集团 (AUX Group), founded 1986 in Ningbo, Zhejiang — primarily an HVAC/home-appliance maker. In 2003 it attempted to enter the SUV market but exited in 2005 after failing to obtain long-term production approval, one of the textbook cautionary tales of early 2000s Chinese auto-industry overreach.
