Tips

history
Accused of plotting rebellion, he took his own life in 122 BC. Legend tells it differently: he rose to heaven as an immortal, and his chickens and dogs, who had licked up the leftover elixir, flew after him. That is the origin of 一人得道,鸡犬升天, "when one man reaches the Way, even his chickens and dogs go up to heaven", said of the hangers-on of a man who rises.
