history
Discovered in 2005 at Gogo Station, Western Australia; the 380-million-year-old placoderm fossil contained an embryo still attached by umbilical cord. The genus name means 'mother fish', the species was named for David Attenborough, who had featured the Gogo fossils in his 1979 series Life on Earth.
